AN OVERHAUL of cafes at New Plymouth District Council-owned venues has prompted the city's airport cafe to close, leaving the leaseholder gutted and angry.

On July 1 the Airport Cafe will close, and leaseholders Loren and Bernadette Dunford will move their business out of the airport, leaving behind just the kitchen sink, counter, tables and chairs. Their three part-time staff will be left without a job.
