Tci Sees Support From Abn Investors for Break-Up

AMSTERDAM (Reuters) - The Children's Investment Fund, a British hedge fund, said on Tuesday [Feb. 27] it has support from other shareholders of Dutch bank ABN Amro for its proposal to break it up as the Dutch central bank came under fire for trying to intervene. A TCI spokesman declined to provide the names of the other investors or the size of their stakes.

"Although we are totally independent, other ABN Amro shareholders have asked for information from us. As a result, it has become clear that they are clearly supporting us," the spokesman told Reuters.
