GARDENERS are often confused by the terms pumpkin, marrow, squash, courgette etc, and I am often asked which is which.

Pumpkins are really hard-skinned squashes with good keeping qualities. Pumpkin cultivars, such as kumi kumi, crown, Queensland blue and triamble all have hard skins, and usually keep well through winter into spring.
