GREENWICH, Conn. (HedgeWorld.com) - Get used to it; hedge funds performed poorly in August, and the malaise extends across multiple measures of hedge fund returns.
On Tuesday [Sept. 9], Greenwich Alternative Investments LLC released its own index calculations, which showed its Global Hedge Fund Index falling 1.18% in August, dragging year-to-date performance down to negative 4.1%. Over the previous three months ended Aug. 31. the global index was down 4.4%. But the trouble, as one might imagine, extends back into 2007. Greenwich's trailing 12- month measure of performance showed hedge funds tracked by it had returned only 0.2% since August of last year.See the full content of this document
