PARIS (Reuters) - The head of French hedge fund operator Capital Fund Management said on Friday [Aug. 24] the company had $407 million at risk due to the financial and legal problems of U.S. cash management firm Sentinel Management Group Inc.

"$407 million is at risk and not $630 million as reported in French newspaper Les Echos," Capital Fund Management Chief Executive and management board Chairman Jean-Pierre Aguilar said in an emailed response to a Reuters question. Mr. Aguilar said the assets at risk were "not related to the U.S. subprime crisis," but were due to Sentinel.
