FOUR records were broken on the first night of the Taranaki Winter Swimming Championships at Stratford on Wednesday night.

The 800m and 1500m freestyle events started the championships, which continue tomorrow and Sunday. A total of 150 swimmers, including a strong representation from Wanganui, are competing.
