Center for Entrepreneurship to Scrutinize Regulations

Summary


WASHINGTON (HedgeWorld.com) - A new think tank from the Competitive Enterprise Institute will focus on the relationship between current financial regulations and entrepreneurs, and hedge funds will be a major area of study.

John Berlau, director of the fledgling Center for Entrepreneurship, will evaluate regulatory topics such as the activities of the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, the effects of the Sarbanes-Oxley Act, banking rules and accounting standards. Its mission, Mr. Berlau said, is to identify to what degree today's regulatory regime helps or hinders the launching of a new business, and the development of a small business into a large- scale enterprise.
