TARANAKI'S blue duck population has doubled after 16 juveniles were released on Mt Taranaki.
Department of Conservation (DOC) staff set free 10 male and six female blue ducks (whio) fitted with radio transmitters and coloured leg bands on four Taranaki rivers in the Egmont National Park on Friday last week, as part of a programme aimed at restoring their numbers, DOC scientist Nic Peet, of Wanganui, said.See the full content of this document
