Boerse Sale of Cash Equities Unit to Lse Unlikely

FRANKFURT, Germany (Reuters) - Deutsche Boerse is unlikely to sell its cash equities business to the London Stock Exchange, a Boerse board member and analysts said in response to a reported proposal by hedge fund The Children's Investment Fund.

Citing unnamed financial sources, German business daily Handelsblatt said on Tuesday [Sept. 9] that U.K.-based TCI wants Boerse to do such a deal. A Boerse spokesman declined to comment. Nobody at TCI was immediately available for comment.
