Hardt Acquires Private Equity Business

LONDON (HedgeWorld.com) - Building on a private equity venture formulated last year, Hardt Group has bought out London-based Kingsbridge Capital to form Hardt Group Capital Partners Ltd. Billing itself as an international alternatives firm, Hardt now seems to have the private equity piece of its operations firmly in place. Traditionally, Hardt has offered single hedge funds and funds of hedge funds, which makes up the majority of the firms' US$900 million in institutional investor assets.

Board Looks to Keep Historic Eltham Site

THE Eltham Community Board is looking for creative ways to ensure the town's municipal building in Stanners St is retained for use as a community health centre, by a local trust. The building has been given a market value of $180,000, therefore its rental at the accepted 10.5% of value should be $1800 a month, the community board was told yesterday. Neither of these is affordable for a trust which has $60,000 in the bank.

Police Seek Career Criminal

POLICE are searching for a man they describe as a career criminal who failed to appear in the New Plymouth District Court last week. Kenneth John Burns, who has 130 previous convictions, failed to appear on July 14 on a charge of shoplifting.
